Color correction

Color correction refers to the process of each individual clip a video clip is altered to match multiple color temperatures iens appearance meets consistent technical standards.

Digital video coloring steps:

Create an image profile

Color level lens

What are color tones?
Hue refers to the color itself. In the simplest terms, it's the difference between red and blue. Your hue can be changed by saturation and brightness, and once we give you a few paragraphs about hue, we'll cover them.

Hue, saturation, and brightness together are called "HSB". This combination forms the basic color focus of any video image.

Tones are not always vivid primary colors.

What is color saturation?
Saturation refers to the intensity of a color. This is determined by the amount of gray in the hue, ranging from pure gray to vivid colors.

Saturation is where you really make your color "pop," or, at the other end of the spectrum, become "cloudy." Believe it or not, this is all due to the amount of gray information in the color. Seems simple enough, right?

If you add pure white or pure black to the color, you'll get darker or brighter brightness values, which is our next category.

What is color saturation?

Saturation refers to the intensity of a color. This is determined by the amount of gray in the hue, ranging from pure gray to vivid colors.

What is color brightness?

Brightness refers to the brightness of your color. This makes the difference between Burgundy and candy apple.

1. White balance
White balance is the same in your camera as it is in your shader. It describes the color temperature of the image. Your white balance should be the first thing you do because it will affect every decision you make from then on.

2. You'll want to use ranges (waveforms, parades, histograms, vector mirrors) to give you some additional value color information that you didn't see initially. An oscilloscope is a monitoring tool that displays color and light information graphically so that you can see the precise balance of these features and how they compare to each other.

3. Curves help with accurate color correction and color grading, and you will need to pair them with your scope.

With curves, you can add points to drag colors to new values and change shadows, mids, and highlights in a more precise way.

4. Color matching Color matching allows you to select a reference image and then analyze and apply it to the target image.
This is an automatic calculation, so it is important to check your range and use your judgment on the quality of the color match.

5. Three-way color correctors are useful tools for many professional recreational colorists, but they have their advantages and disadvantages.

The three-way color corrector lets you use the color wheel to balance shadows, mediums, and highlights in your image. You can set the value, or use the control drag point to set the value according to the hue.

6. Color qualifiers Color qualifiers give you the opportunity to change a specific color or color range without changing the rest of the picture.

7. In the Da Vinci program, the color mask is called Power Windows. These work much like masks in Adobe Photoshop. You can specify a shape to isolate its color.

Task1

Our group is filming

I'm in charge of lighting, and I need to adjust the light so that the photographer can get a better picture. The art director assisted me in placing the lights, adjusting the Angle of the light in each shooting and finally presenting the perfect footage. Although it was very hard, we were very happy to cooperate in the shooting.

After we have selected the video clip, download it.

Instagram/ Douyin video
In Week 05, Mr Martin introduced us to Project 02, which will be divided into two parts, Part A: Production shooting video and part B :Instagram/Tik Tok video.

Tiktok video shooting
I shot the scene on the Thursday of week 8 (independent study week). My friends and I went to many places after class.

The theme I shoot through a song is to record a day in my life. I added some transition effects to each video transition. I fixed the subtitles and music to make sure they weren't affected when I edited the video.

Reflection

Before taking the audio-visual production course, I did not know much about audio-visual production and did not have in-depth practical experience. I hope that through this course, I can not only master the basic theory of audio and video production, but also master practical skills, and improve my comprehensive production ability.
Course content includes webcam technology, lighting setup, recording and editing, and advanced production. We worked on many projects, from short film production to sound design, each of which gave me a deeper understanding of the complexities and technical requirements of audio and video production.
In the course project, I learned how to use professional cameras and recording equipment, understood the importance of lighting in video production, and learned basic advanced editing techniques.
