25/06/2025 - 27/07/2024 (Week 10 – Week 14) You Siyuan / 0366978 Advanced Animation / Bachelor of Design (Honours) in Creative Media / Taylors  University Advanced Animation/Final Project: Action Animation CONCENT INTRODUCTION FINAL PROJECT SUBMISSION REFLECTION INTRODUCTION FINAL PROJECT Objective: You are tasked with creating a dynamic and visually compelling 5 to 10-second physical action sequence animation using provided character rigs. The goal is to demonstrate your understanding of physical movement, timing, extreme and breakdown poses, and visual storytelling through effective camera staging, exaggeration, and polished animation techniques. To start, we need to search for a suitable video reference that clearly demonstrates the action. After that, we’ll create a storyboard to illustrate the key moments, movements, and emotions in the scene. The storyboard should include a variety of camera angles and shot types, maintaining visual continuity to enhance storytell...

Delaying the movement: By moving one leg slightly later than the other, you break the mechanical feel and make the jump feel more natural. Avoiding "Weight": Adding preemptive movement to the hands or feet during the jump gives the movement a sense of gravity and avoids a light, fluttery feel. From "Hard" to "Loose" (Loosen Up): The initial animation is a simple, clean "two-frame jump." Later, we'll demonstrate a looser animation, adding more compression, stretching, delay, and reversal techniques to ac...

This extra business supports the main action, it is called a secondary action and is always kept subordinate to the primary action. Clarity in Exaggeration: More exaggerated means.. It is not a distorted drawing or an action so violent it was disturbing. More Realism means.. More convincing, bigger contact with people, never destroy believability. Clarity in Anticipation: Body Mechanic of Walk Basic Understanding of Walking: Learning various walking styles is the first lesson in animation, as walking is one of the most difficult movements to master. The Essence of Walking: It...

This could be the projectile of a bouncing ball, the path of a moving arm, and even the movements of mouth corners during a dialogue scene.
